Update

Last week was a hectic week. I spent two different evenings in the ER, one with Charlie who had a high fever and wouldn't stop screaming and the next evening with a friend who lost her baby. Needless to say, I missed two workouts, but I wasn't eating much those days. I'm back in the swing of things. The scale is showing lower numbers, almost everyday. I re-measured and have lost inches in a variety of places, an inch and a half around my waist in less than two weeks!
Today I started the Complete Body Cleanse. I drink this delightfully green substance four times a day for two days. I have never seen so many fruits and vegetables in one place before. 60 fruits and vegetables all blended together, ranging from Japanese Seaweed to Mung Bean to Brussel Sprouts to Watermelon. I'm not expecting big weightloss from this, but it is good to detox your body so it can run effeciently while working out and eating healthy.

The First Day of the Rest of My Life

It went well, very well. I ate very healthy, fiber bar, salad with low fat balsamic vinaigrette, one roast beef sandwich, broccoli and rice. Not to mention Acai Berry capsules and Cinnamon capsules (just an added bonus if they work they work kind of thing).
I got up and did The Wave, and it was fun. It is definitely going to be a workout. I did the sculpting video today, lots of lunges, squats, push-ups etc. all on the curved stair (The Wave).
We got out twice today to enjoy the warm weather, the last time being a walk, a walk longer than I had bargained for (blogged here).
I am actually kind of tired and ready for bed, when usually I can stay up later. My legs were kind of fatigued when I climbed the stairs this evening when we came up for the night. My back hurts, from carrying Charlie strapped to my front in my Maya Wrap half of the day and on our walk. But I'll bet that scale goes down tomorrow morning.
Tomorrow I get to try the cardio DVD that utilizes the flip side of The Wave, which is a crescent shaped moving thingamajig that you balance on using your core muscles to keep you stabilized while doing different exercises. Should be a fun time!

73 Days

I have 73 days left in my terrific twenties. A lot happened in my twenties, probably the best years of my life. I don't know, my junior and senior year in high school might be hard to beat. But in my twenties the two most important events of my life occurred, the birth of my children. My most recent, who is curled up asleep in my lap as I type is 11 weeks old today. Needless to say, I still have some of the baby weight to lose (I've lost 24 pounds of it, only 7 more to go), and then some more. Looking back, I would say I was at my prime when I was 23 or 24 years old. I was many pounds lighter, probably a lot healthier and definitely had way more self esteem. My goal is to get some of that back. Sure I am a little older now, a lot more life experience, many more stretch marks, but two beautiful children to show for myself. They deserve a mom who is healthy, a mom who is fit, a mom who cares enough about herself to eat healthy and exercise. I want to look in the mirror and be happy with what I see. I want to be comfortable in a bathing suit. I want to try on clothes and like the way they fit. I want to be able to have a photo taken of myself and like the way it looks, no matter what angle it is taken from.
Tomorrow, since it is very late now, I am going to start a new exercise program. It is called The Firm The Wave. It is a little piece of exercise equipment that has multiple uses, and it came with a few DVD's as well as some other useful information. I know most of these gadgets we buy collect dust, but I am certain that if I stick with it, and eat a balanced diet not totally deprive myself of all the foods I love, but limit them to only a few meals a month, I can enter my 30's a happier, healthier, and leaner me. We all age, I'm not fighting that. I just want to age as gracefully as is naturally possible, and eating right and getting exercise plays a big part in that. So tomorrow marks the first day of the rest of my sweet life. If you want to go on this journey with me, whether you want to get healthier yourself or just follow my progress and random thoughts, I welcome you to check back often as I blog about the ups and downs. Who knows, maybe I will even post some before, during, and after photos. I took my measurements this evening, so I will be adding up inches lost, which I deem more important than pounds lost, but pounds would be nice too. Wish me luck, where there's a will there's a way. And you better believe I'm going to have a big 30th birthday bash!
